For the first project, I completed a footprint introduction. We did this project to introduce ourselves to the class using our footprint as an outline. We had to use at least three media for this project. I used markers, colored pencils, printed out pictures, magazines, and a dried rose. Each symbol represents something about me. The circle symbol is to represent my experience at NSU in the Teaching Program. The book is because I love to read in my free time. The cows are because my family has a farm and I love working with our cattle on the farm. The pig is because I raised and showed pigs through 4-H. The music notes are because I love listening to music, going to concerts, and I played the piano and saxophone in elementary, middle, and high school. I included a picture of my family because they are my biggest supporters and they are the reason I am who I am today. I also included a dried rose because I like flowers and I also like to garden and plant flowers.
For my extention on this project I would do a language arts lesson. First, I would have my students trace and cut out their footprints and glue them together. Then, I would give my students a writing prompt, such as writing about their family or about one experience that they have had (or and experience they have "walked through"). They would write their journal on their footprints.
